Strengthening Mother and Child health at Vianzi and Matangani

Women are better able to support their children in education issues when they have better health, but children can properly attend to school when their health is better. SAWA in collaboration with Firelight Foundation of USA facilitates health officers' monthly visits to Vianzi through Monthly mobile clinics to provide Mother and Child health services at the village. SAWA meets costs of transport and allowances for the clinical officers who move from their working station to the villages. Immunization Kits and other clinical faclities necessary to run the mobile clinics are provided by Mvomero District Council. Through the clinics, between 25 to 30 pregnant women receive antenatal services monthly, 100 children get immunized , while about 60 women and girls receive family planning education. This achievement has contributed in reducing both infant and Martenal mortality rates in the village
